To reduce poverty, Afghanistan must focus on strengthening agriculture, investing in human development and managing and mitigating risks that increase poor people's vulnerability.
To create a brighter future for generations to come, The Green Village, with the help of your donations, plans to establish grant and scholarship schemes. These will help in providing the financial support needed to transform life’s across all ages, ethnicity, sex and religion.
Afghanistan is in the midst of an almost perfect storm of challenges and hardship. In 2020, almost a quarter of the population (9.4 million) are in need of humanitarian assistance, more than half of whom are children.
To mitigate some of these challenges and save lives, The Green Village, with the support of your donations, aims to provide support to those who need it the most.
Lack of education, livelihoods and access to basic services contribute to Afghan poverty. Poor people in Afghanistan are less likely to have access to electricity (64%), education (77%), safe drinking water (40%), and sanitation (3%).
To break this cycle, The Green Village, with the support of your donations, plans to support and build a foundation of essential services; such as access to education, clean water, and basic essentials. This will greatly help in the survival and development of children and families that have nothing.
